Happy New Month everyone! I love the start of a new month, especially when it signifies the start of Summer! My favourite season.
This June marks the second full month of my blogging journey. As I’m so early on in my blog I think it’s a good time to think about what I want to achieve in the next month with my blog and the twitter and Instagram accounts I’ll be using to promote it.
Despite officially creating my blog and writing my first blog post at the end of April, I didn’t really start consistently blogging and working on learning and implementing SEO etc. until mid-May. This is also around the time I started my twitter account. To be honest, until I started my twitter account I had no idea what I was doing with my blog and wasn’t really aware of what I needed to do and how much I needed to learn in order to make my blog as successful as it can be. I still don’t really know, but I’m using this month to start doing it all right (hopefully!)

BLOG GOALS
- Gain 500 blog views.
This will be a tough one I think, as I only managed to gain about 320 blog views in May (still trying to understand google analytics so it might actually be way less than that haha). To achieve this, I will need to have a huge focus on promoting my blog through Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram (although, still building up the courage on the Instagram front).
- Gain 20 email subscribers
As I write this, I currently have 7 email subscribers so it might be quite hard to get to 20 this month but I am going to have a focus on producing quality content in order to increase this.
You could be my 8th by subscribing here!
- Create weekly newsletter
This is a scary one for me! I am aiming to have a weekly newsletter published every Sunday for everyone on my subscribers list. In the newsletter I will give a run through of the weeks blog posts and any news from the past week and plans for the next!
- Create consistent interesting content
I am aiming to write at least 6 new blog posts this June. I know that daily blog posts aren’t necessary for increased views, but I think as I am at the very start of this, it will definitely be beneficial to ensure I have consistent, interesting content produced on my blog in order to gain more views and subscribers.
SOCIAL MEDIA GOALS
- Increase Twitter followers to 500
I started my twitter account about 3 weeks ago and already have over 300 followers, not amazing but I feel really positive about this! I have built some really good relationships with other members of the blogging and writing community and I am confident this should be an easy one to grow. Just as a side note, if anyone has recently started their blog or if you’re thinking about it, I can’t recommend making a blog specific twitter account more. The support you get from other members of blogging twitter is amazing. And if you ever have any questions, there is always someone there to give you a hand or lend an ear.
- Increase Instagram followers to 1000
I was initially going to create a new Instagram account for my blog but I think I’ve decided against it. I have already built up a following on Instagram and the majority of the people I follow are other bloggers so I’m not sure if it would be beneficial to create a new one. I currently have around 910 followers on Instagram so it shouldn’t be too difficult to increase this as long as I make the effort to share and post often. Or should I create a new one? Still unsure, open to suggestions on this one!
- Have 1 Pin on Pinterest go viral
I know I will never be able to guarantee this and the only way I can get there is to put the work in. Today, I bought Emily Dyson’s Big Pin Energy Ultimate Pinterest Guide and even after a quick glimpse through I already have so many things I can change to improve my Pinterest presence. Hopefully, I can give an update in the next few weeks after I’ve experienced some growth.
- Increase Pinterest followers to 100
I currently have 21 followers on Pinterest and I want to increase this to about 100 by the end of June. As well as this, I need to follow a lot more people on there too – drop your Pinterests in the comments!
I do feel like these goals are achievable for the stage I am at with blogging. I could try and push myself a bit more, but I had a bit of a wobble last week thinking I hadn’t achieved enough so I don’t want to set goals that I fall short of in case it throws me back down again.
Let me know in the comments what your June blog/social media/life goals are!
